Phase one underway
The diggers are now in the playground and work has started! While half of the playground is out of bounds, you can still go in to the other side and use the younger equipment. Or just watch the diggers – whatever you prefer.
Work should take around four weeks (subject to the lockdown that is about to start) so the new equipment going in for this phase should be complete by Christmas. Members of our group can’t quite believe it. This project started years ago and it has taken us so long to get to this point because of the amount of work needed. From researching what the budget should be, consulting the community and drafting the brief, there have been a huge amount of steps and hurdles to overcome. But this first phase will help build momentum to complete the second half, hopefully next year.
For this first phase, the focus is on the junior equipment. The company installing it is Proludic and it has been funded by Coggeshall Parish Council, Enovert Community Foundation, and community fundraising events and donations.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this project, whether it was getting involved early on or even just coming along to an event. It could not have been done without this support.
As the work gets close to completion we will publish updates – we can’t wait to see how it looks.
